If I load my curriculum onto your website, do I lose my intellectual property rights?

No. Your intellectual property belongs to you and we have no interest in taking it away from you. That said, it’s smart to protect yourself from others who might distribute your curriculum with a few simple best practices:

Make sure all class materials include your copyright information.

If you find someone violating your copyright, take steps to stop them. If you don’t protect your copyright, you can lose it. The United States Copyright Office offers a free, downloadable circular on Copyright Basics you might find helpful.

Can I use NWETI’s online university in conjunction with my on-site training sessions?

Absolutely. Before your next on-site seminar, use NWETI to distribute materials a week or two beforehand and ask questions. Then, you can spend your training session time working with your students instead of lecturing at them. After the on-site seminar, allow students to ask questions and receive feedback for a week or two through your NWETI classroom. Using this method, you can deliver more training sessions in a day, use the time saved to provide consulting services to your client organization, or simply head home early for once.

Can I just upload my video and handouts for students to view, or should I offer things like live chat?

Of course it’s technologically possibly to only upload your video and handouts, but we advise against that approach. We’ve found students learn best when they are able to work with other students and interact with their instructor. A combination of online and offline learning, group experiences, and activities is the ideal blend for engaging students so they learn better.

I can run a computer, but I’m no technological expert. Am I going to be able to handle the NWETI platform?
